The organic version of the SmartWash cross-contamination elimination system has received organic approval.
The Organic Materials Review Institute reviewed SmartWash Organic, a product offered by Salinas, Calif.-based SmartWash Solutions, and determined the organic version can be allowed for use in organic produce wash systems, according to a news release.
“SmartWash Organic features the power and science of the original formula in a re-engineered solution,” Jim Brennan, SmartWash’s president, said in the release. “It is specifically designed for organic production and processing.”
Responding to numerous customer requests, SmartWash developed the organic product after three years of research, according to the release. It is available as part of SmartWash’s automated process control food safety solutions.
SmartWash is a division of Salinas-based Taylor Fresh Foods Inc.
