Sobeys Inc. is recalling fresh-cut Compliments brand “Stir-Fry Style Vegetables,” distributed in Ontario, because of possible listeria contamination.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled product, according to the recall notice from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The agency’s Jan. 26 notice did not specify how much of the bagged, fresh-cut mix is subject to recall or where the agency collected samples that tested positive.
The 12-ounce bags of fresh-cut broccoli, carrots and snow peas have best buy dates of Jan. 14. The product has the Universal Price Code 0 68820 10648 7. The product label indicates the vegetables are from the U.S., Mexico and Guatemala.
Retailers that received the product were Sobeys, Foodland, FreshCo and Price Chopper stores in Ontario, according to a statement on the Sobeys Inc. website.
“This recall was triggered by CFIA test results. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings,” according to the recall notice.
