Produce for Better Health Foundation’s social media sites are attracting high consumer and industry interest.
The Hockessin, Del.-based organization’s Fruits & Veggies — More Matters Facebook and Twitter accounts are booming with consumer interest.
Consumers, public health workers, the produce industry and others helped the foundation reach more than 100,000 likes for its Facebook page and more than 25,000 followers on Twitter, according to a news release.
The Facebook page includes an About the Buzz section that provides the latest fruit and vegetable news and research. Other parts of the site provides recipes, selection and storage tips and articles written by supermarket dietitians.
The foundation hosts Twitter chats on the first Wednesday of each month and on Feb. 27, plans to host a “social media 101” Twitter chat at hashtag #socialmedia101.
A little less than 2,500 people follow the group’s Pinterest account it started in June.
