Looking to erase some of the paperwork of the audit process, the Littleton, Colo.-based ASAP Audits & Inspections is introducing tablet-based software.

The software is used on both a tablet, to gather data, and a desktop or laptop computer, for reporting and analysis, according to Gary Fleming, founder and chief executive officer of the company. Fleming previously has worked for the Produce Marketing Association, GS1 and Redline Solutions.

The data gathered by the program can be used to run exception reports, creating standard operating procedures, and electronically routing corrective actions and continuous improvements, he said, declining to release pricing details.

“What we have seen is that everyone is burdened with having to do this process and do it with a pen and paper,” Fleming said. “Now you can throw away the clipboard and get rid of the associated paper. Now it can all be done in an automated fashion.”

For example, if a shippers wants to tell a growers what checklist of items should include when they conduct an internal audit, Fleming said they can do so with the ASAP software.

“One growers perform those inspection, that data can go back to the shipper and the shipper can run reports on that data,” he said.

The program is a compilation of common audit features, from which users can create their own checklists or use generic versions created by ASAP, Fleming said.

The software allows users to prepare for a scheduled third-party audit by using the software checklist that matches the third party audit, Fleming said. For more information, contact Gary Fleming at gfleming@asapaudits.com.
