The National Multiple Sclerosis Society chose Stamoules Produce Co. to receive its Sylvia Lawry Founder Award.
Stamoules received this honor for forging a creative new partnership to raise MS awareness throughout the U.S.
During March 2012, a portion of proceeds of Stamoules broccoli sales supported the chapter’s direct services for people with MS and their families, as well as funded research for better treatments and a cure, according to a news release.
Stamoules also helped raise public awareness of MS by co-branding all of its broccoli boxes with the National MS Society’s “We joined the movement” logo, according to the release.
