State Garden Co. Inc., is expanding its salads line.

The Chelsea, Mass.-based company is adding new size offerings for its Simple Beginnings Tender Leaf Salads line.

In late October, the company plans to begin shipping 11-ounce clamshells of baby arugula and a 50/50 blend.

State Garden offers five varieties of the triple-washed and ready-to-eat salads in 5-ounce clamshells:

  • Spring mix;
  • Baby spinach;
  • 50/50 blend;
  • Baby arugula; and
  • Baby kale.

State Garden expanding Simple Beginnings salad lineFollowing the brand’s 2013 introduction, the company added baby spinach and spring mix offerings.

“After seeing the popularity of our Simple Beginnings salads in the 5-ounce segment and hearing our consumers’ requests for us to expand the variety of our family size offerings, we are pleased to add these 11-ounce clamshells to our product line,” Stephen Noll, vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release. “The 11-ounce packages are the perfect size for feeding the entire family.”

State Garden distributes conventional and organic greens, spinach, celery hearts and squash under its Olivia’s Organics, Simple Beginnings and Northeast Fresh brands.
