Stemilt Growers has promoted Tate Mathison to director of sales and Dennis Howell to director of planning — two new positions at the Wenatchee, Wash.-based grower-shipper.
The roles pursue the company’s strategic goals for sales planning and process development, according to a news release.
Mathison spent the past seven years in domestic sales with his family’s company, most recently as sales team leader for national accounts.
Prior to joining Stemilt, he worked at Dole Food Co. in Los Angeles. Mathison started at Dole as a technical service representative and was promoted to tropical sales manager.
Howell joined Stemilt in 1997 as a technician in the research and development department. Since then his roles have included quality control manager, director of quality control and sales analyst.
Most recently, Howell was sales and business planning team leader.
“(Tate’s) incredible people skills and passion for this business will serve him well in this new role, where he will guide strategic alignment between our fruit manifest and customers,” Mike Taylor, Stemilt Growers vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release. “Dennis has a mind for planning and process development and exceptional knowledge of information technology systems, which are imperative as he guides our planning department.”
