Phoenix-based Stern Produce Co. has been awarded a maximum $16.625 million contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to military units, civilian agencies and schools supplied by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and reservations in Arizona.

The Department of Defense announced terms of the 18-month, fixed-price (with economic price adjustment) contract in a news release. The contract completion date is Oct. 12, 2015, with two 18-month optional periods possible, according to the release. The contracting agency is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia.
