Los Angeles chef Craig Thornton showcased dishes featuring strawberries at a media dining event in partnership with the Watsonville-based California Strawberry Commission.

The multicourse dinner was offered at Thornton’s Wolvesmouth restaurant in downtown Los Angeles in late August. The site is for invitation-only dining.

“With the menu I created for the event, I wanted to showcase the unique flavors that strawberries offer at different stages of ripeness,” Thornton said in a news release.

“Craig Thornton masterfully showcased the versatility of the California strawberry as an ingredient that is truly more than meets the eye,” said Chris Christian, commission senior vice president. “His approach illustrated the range of taste strawberries can add to a dish. They are very versatile and Craig was able to incorporate a multitude of savory and unexpected flavors that may have surprised our guests.”
