Sun World International LLC has named three new marketer licensees – two based in Chile, one in Italy – to distribute its grapes.
They are Giuliano Puglia Fruit, Puglia, Italy; Exportadora Santa Elena S.A., Colina, Chile; and GESEX S.A., Buin, Chile.
The appointments bring Bakersfield, Calif.-based Sun World’s network of grape marketers to 32, according to a news release. The company also has 22 stone fruit marketers. There are licensees for those items in 12 nations.
The three companies will distribute fruit from new seedless grape varieties developed by Sun World. They can also use its brands, such as Midnight Beauty; Scarlotta Seedless; and Sable Seedless.
“Visibility of our most prominent brands will become stronger with the involvement and expertise of these leading Chilean and Italian fruit grower-marketers,” Sun World executive vice president David Marguleas said in the release.
Giuliano Puglia Fruit is owned by Nicola, Giovani and Vito Giuliano in Turi, in southern Italy’s Puglia region. They produce table grapes, stone fruit and citrus marketed to European retailers.
GESEX, a Chilean exporter to the U.S., Canada and other markets, packs and exports grapes, citrus and stone fruit. The company is planning similar capability from Peru.
Exportadora Santa Elena focuses on 800 hectares of table grape production in southern and central Chile.
