The cooperative’s online project, Sunkist Family Stories, profiles multigenerational growers in California and Arizona.
“Consumers today are keenly interested in the stories behind their food,” Kevin Fiori, vice president of sales and marketing for Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based Sunkist Growers, said in a news release.
A consumer microsite, social media campaign and retail marketing materials also back the project. It offers insights on traditional growing practices, resource stewardship and innovation.
Sustainable farming practices to be shown include solar energy, irrigation systems and low-emission vehicles. Specialty citrus varieties and their uses by chefs and home cooks will also be featured.
