Two additional greenhouses were added to the existing four at its Idaho Falls complex, according to a news release. A 2.5-million-pound storage unit also was built.
Other improvements include additional office space and on-site testing equipment.
In addition, an irrigation system was installed at the 140-acre on-site test farm.
The Idaho Falls facility is the flagship of SunRain’s nationwide trial program that spans 12 states.
Mini tubers, about the diameter of a nickel, are propagated under highly controlled hygienic conditions using tissue culture techniques.
The end result is virus-free seed stock that allows certified seed potato crops to get off to a healthier start.
SunRain plans to have a new product showcase and open house at its Idaho Falls facility Aug. 13.
