SweeTango apples has given its website a facelift to provide consumers with more information, including recipes, food and wine pairings, and where fruit may be purchased.

As the season progresses, it will be updated to include sampling opportunities and media clips, according to a news release.

The website, which also features profiles of SweeTango apple growers and a video history of the variety, is part of the larger Sweet Spot of Apple Season national marketing campaign unveiled in June.

That campaign combines traditional retail promotions with interactive digital offerings.

Retailers will be able to use the site to access variety images, logos and in-store signage, among other items.

SweeTango, the brand name for a cross between the Honeycrisp and Zestar varieties, is grown and marketed by the Next Big Thing, a Lake City, Minn.-based growers cooperative. The variety was developed by the University of Minnesota as MN1914.
