Tanimura & Antle plans to promote its three Artisan lettuce varieties with a Summer Fun Sweepstakes starting May 1.
A contest logo will appear on packages of Artisan lettuce, romaine and Boston from the Salinas, Calif., grower-shipper through July. Consumers in the U.S. and Canada will be eligible for weekly $1,000 prizes, according to a news release.
The graphic directs shoppers to enter online at the Artisan website, where recipes and product information are also available.
Thirteen weekly winners will be announced on Tanimura & Antle’s Artisan Facebook page, which is followed by retailers as well as consumers, according to the release.
Last year’s seasonal sweepstakes was Celebrate Summer, with a top prize of $250. In October, Tanimura & Antle introduced a new packaging design linking its Artisan products.
Tanimura & Antle plans to display the Artisan product line April 12-13 at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association convention in Calgary at booth 628.
“Tanimura & Antle experienced tremendous success with our Artisan lettuce line and seasonal packaging programs in 2011, effectively building distribution and consumer engagement in both the U.S. and Canada,” Diana McClean, director of marketing, said in the release.
