Savage, Md.-based Coastal hopes to move into its new home in the first quarter of 2016, according to a company news release.
The new facility will sit on 33 acres in Laurel, Md., about 3 miles from the company’s current headquarters.
The move comes on the heels of rapid growth at the company. In the past six years, Coastal has tripled in size.
“We believe the outlook for our products and services is strong, and we believe there is significant opportunity in our current footprint,” John Corso, Coastal’s president and chief executive officer, said in the release.
Coastal, which is between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., delivers produce and dairy daily to six states and D.C. The company and its subsidiaries operate a fleet of 175 trucks.
Founded in 1992, Coastal added a fresh-cut division in 1996 and bought Jessup, Md.-based L&M Produce in 2007. The company also has added a logistics subsidiary.
