The Produce Mom visits the NBA and WNBAThe Produce Mom recently visited the National Basketball Association and the Women’s National Basketball Association in New York City, to discuss the Find Your Favorite program.

The objective of the trip was to meet with the NBA officials in the office of social responsibility, who oversee NBA Cares, NBA Fit and NBA Green for both associations.

The Produce Mom is the official blog of the Indianapolis Fruit Co., Indianapolis, written by marketing manager, Lori Taylor. She visted the basketball associations April 10,

Taylor met with the two Associations specifically because Tamika Catchings, forward for the Indiana Fever, Indianapolis, is one of two Find Your Favorite national spokespersons.

Find Your Favorite is a campaign that encourages Indianapolis Public School students and their families to try new fruits and vegetables by connecting fruits and vegetables to people who represent the interests and dreams of youth. The goal of the campaign is to promote healthy choices and healthy eating.

This in-school initiative offers educational materials about the affordability and seasonality of fresh produce and grocery offers and coupons which will be provided by produce industry vendors and partners of Indianapolis Fruit Company.

So far, the program is in 67 Indianapolis Public Schools, and there are plans to extend its reach.
