Avondale, Pa.-based To-Jo Mushrooms, in addition to a direct donation to Produce For Kids, plans to donate funds from the sale of its 8-ounce whole and sliced mushrooms sold at Giant Food Stores May 2 through June 14.
The company also plans to boost awareness of the program during a joint Twitter party May 14 with the hashtag #FreshGrilling, starting at 9 p.m. Eastern. Representatives from Produce for Kids and Busy Working Mama plan to promote the campaign with healthful mushroom recipes for the summer grilling season, according to a news release.
“We are so happy to be participating in this program with Produce for Kids and Giant Landover,” said Anthony D’Amico, To-Jo president, in a news release. “Supporting the Get Healthy Give Hope campaign allows To-Jo to educate the community on healthy eating habits for children while generating revenue for Giant’s Our Family Foundation. Cause marketing is an important part of To-Jo’s mission and we are proud to be part of this year’s program.”
