The integrated communications campaign “I Love Puerto Rico Tomatoes” was recognized by the Puerto Rico Sales and Marketing Association with several top awards at the annual Marketing Excellence Awards Summit. The campaign, which promotes the local tomato harvest for 2014, won the “Best Use of Public Relations Strategy Award,” according to a news release.
In addition, the campaign won the association’s Top Marketing Excellence Award, which honors the most successful case study in overall strategy and program execution, based on the accomplishment of project objectives and business opportunities with exceptional results.
“We have shown the country that in Puerto Rico, if we put our commitment and passion together, we can plant well and harvest even better” Karen Garnik, president of Global Vision Marketing and Communications, said in a news release. Global Vision conceptualized the campaign, along with other companies.
The campaign focused on the quality of local tomatoes, and promoted the nutritional benefits of tomato consumption. Commissioned by the Gargiulo Puerto Rico and Caribbean Produce Exchange, the following companies also worked on the campaign: Oneighty (creative design), Viviré (social media management), and Men on the Moon (in-store educational promotions).
