Chicago-based Total Quality Logistics has donated $1,000 to Feeding America through the company’s Moves that Matter program.

The nonprofit recipient works through a national network of 200 member food banks to fight hunger.

“TQL has been moving loads of food for Feeding America for many years and we were pleased that their TQL account executive nominated them to receive this donation,” Kerry Byrne, executive vice president, said in a news release.

Moves that Matter was inspired by the company’s experience arranging pick-up and delivery of playgrounds for the Where Angels Play Foundation. The foundation was the first recipient of a donation, $5,000, to aid construction of 26 playgrounds built in memory of each of the victims of the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

Rescue Bank, a Houston-based organization that provides pet food to animal rescue and rehabilitation groups, has also benefited.

“We move more than 20,000 loads of freight a week and many of these loads directly or indirectly benefit deserving nonprofit organizations across the country,” Byrne said.

TQL plans to donate $1,000 monthly to a nonprofit nominee. Information is at
