Freight brokerage firm Total Quality Logistics is launching a program called Moves that Matter that will help nonprofit organizations.
Moves that Matter is for all TQL employess, customers and carriers that have helped a recognized nonprofit, tax-exempt organization transport an important load of freight. Each month, TQL will choose at least one nonprofit from the stories they heard to receive a $1,000 donation.
TQL recently helped arrange the pickup and delivery of Jessie’s playground, which inspired the program. Jessie Lewis, for whom Jessie’s playground is named, was a victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in 2012. The Where Angels Play Foundation: The Sandy Ground Project has been building playgrounds in honor of each of the 26 victims of the shootings.
“There are so many people working for the greater good in our communities,” Kerry Byrne, executive vice president of TQL, said in a news release. “This is our way to thank all of these people and to encourage everyone who works in the transportation industry. The routine events of our job may not be well known in popular culture, but we’re grateful for the opportunity to affect positive change.”
