TransCargo Unlimited Inc., Columbus, Ohio, is using Purfresh Transport product for the second season, according to a news release from Fremont, Calif.-based Purfresh.
TransCargo is using the product to help it ship mandarins from Uruguay to the far east through the ocean, according to a Purfresh news release.
Rodolfo Faccini Pose of TransCargo said the company uses Purfresh Transport because it helps maintain the quality and color of mandarins, and it also uses the system for its blueberry shipments.
Purfresh said its Transport product helps extend produce shelf life at sea, and it regulates the surrounding ethylene, limiting damage to fruit and controlling ripening. The release calls it “active atmosphere enhancement.”
