A Web seminar on produce transportation best practices is set for July 18.
The 2 p.m. EST event, hosted by the North American Produce Transportation Working Group, will provide an overview of the best practices in the transportation industry, considering the roles of shippers, carriers and receivers in the supply chain, according to a news release from United Fresh.
Planned speakers include: Dan Vaché, vice president of supply chain management, United Fresh Produce Association, Washington, D.C., Doug Stoiber, vice president, L&M Transportation Services, Inc., Raleigh, N.C. Jim Gordon, operations manager, Ippolito Fruit & Produce LTD., Burlington, Ontario; and Doug Nelson, special services manager, Blue Book Services, Inc., Chicago.
A question and answer period will be part of the session and later will be posted online as an industry resource.
“As summer quickly approaches, the Web seminar will be especially valuable to anyone involved in the movement of perishables and refrigerated cargo via truck,” Vaché said in the release.
Online registration for the Web seminar, the first in a series the working group plans, is complimentary for all interested parties.
