The U.S. Apple Association named new officers and board members at its annual Apple Crop Outlook and Marketing Conference in Chicago.
Mark Nicholson of Geneva, N.Y.-based Red Jacket Orchards Inc. succeeds Chris Britton of Modesto, Calif.-based BK Partners as chairman of the Vienna, Va.-based association.
Other new officers include vice chairman Mike Wade of Columbia Fruit Packers Inc., Wenatchee, Wash.; and secretary Jon Alegria of CPC International Apple Co., Tieton, Wash.
Returning officers include treasurer John Graden of Crunch Pak LLC, Cashmere, Wash; and Britton, immediate past chairman. New on the association’s executive committee is Mark Boyer of Ridgetop Orchards LLC, Fishertown, Pa. New on the board is Steve Clement of Sage Fruit Co., Yakima, Wash., who succeeds Dale Foreman.
This year’s state association board member position has been filled by Diane Smith of the Lansing-based Michigan Apple Committee, who succeeds Todd Fryhover of the Wenatchee-based Washington Apple Commission.
