The U.S. Department of Agriculture filed an administrative action against Lombardo Imports Inc. for failing to settle its debts, a violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

According to a press release from the USDA, Lombardo Imports, Las Vegas, allegedly failed to pay one produce seller $738,006 for produce bought between November 2009 and January 2012.

Lombardo Imports can request a hearing, and if the USDA finds it repeatedly violated the PACA, it will be barred from the industry for two years and its responsibly connected principals will not be able to work in the industry for a year, and afterward only with a surety bond.
