USDA files PACA action against Osteen Marketing

USDAThe U.S. Department of Agriculture filed an administrative action against Osteen Marketing LLC for alleged violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

According to a Sept. 30 release from the USDA, Wapun, Wis.-based OSteen Marketing allegedly failed to pay six produce sellers a total of $447,519 for produce bought from August 2010 to November 2011.

Osteen Marketing can request a hearing, and if the USDA finds the company violated the PACA, it will be sanctioned for two years and its principals barred from working for any PACA licensee for a year.
