The U.S. Department of Agriculture appointed five members to the National Mango Board, Orlando, Fla.
Each representative serves three years, starting Jan. 1.
The newly appointed board members are:
- Mariana Gonzalez, Edinburg, Texas;
- Daniel Pollak, Wall, N.J.;
- Tomas Quezada, Armeria Colima, Mexico; and
- Eddy Martinez, Guatemala City.
The USDA reappointed importer Ronald Cohen of Fort Lee, N.J.
First handlers and importers pay three-quarters of a cent per pound assessment on all mangoes to support the board’s promotion programs, and the USDA oversees the board.
