USDA restricts PACA violators in Texas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on two Texas produce firms for failure to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, according to a USDA release.

The following businesses and individuals are currently restricted from operating in the produce industry:

u G & J Fresh Produce LLC, McAllen, Texas, for failing to pay a $5,922 award in favor of a Texas seller. As of the issuance date of the reparation order, Josue De La Fuente and Gisela Munoz were listed as members of the business.

u Sun Belt Commodities Inc., Houston, for failing to pay a $122,221 award in favor of a California seller. As of the issuance date of the reparation order, Daniel Chen and James Lai were listed as the officers, directors, and/or major stockholders of the business.
