The U.S. Department of Agriculture has suspended two produce businesses from operating in the produce industry after they failed to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

The companies are:

  • Four Corners Farms Inc., Glennville, Ga., for failing to pay $89,147 to a Florida seller. The responsibly connected individual is Robert Rushing.
  • Pauher Fresh LLC, Rio Rico, Ariz., for failing to pay $38,048 to a Texas seller. The responsibly connected individual is Jesus Ernesto.

The USDA also announced it has lifted sanctions against America Growers Association LLC, Vernon, Calif., after it satisfied a PACA reparation order.

America Growers Association is now free to apply for a PACA license. Albert Huang, who was listed as responsibly connected, can now be employed by any PACA licensee, according to a Feb. 5 USDA news release.
