USDA sanctions Great Pacific, Gonzalez Transport & Food

USDAThe U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has sanctioned two California produce businesses for failing to pay reparation awards, a violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

The companies are:

Great Pacific Inc., Los Angeles, for failing to pay $511,273 to a California seller. The responsibly connected officer is Yong Hak (Paul) Lee.

Gonzalez Transport & Food Inc., Santa Ana, Calif., for failing to pay $3,777 to a Minnesota seller. The responsibly connected officer is Luciano Gonzalez.

The companies cannot operate in the industry for two years, and their responsibly connected officers cannot work for any PACA licensee for a year and then only if a surety bond is posted.
