Nominations are being sought by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the Mushroom Council.
The council is looking to fill three seats, one in each production region, according to a USDA news release. Nominees for the three-year terms must submit applications by May 1.
The council includes U.S. producers and an importer. U.S. members account for three production territories. Region 1 covers the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and all states except Pennsylvania. Region 2 is Pennsylvania and Region 3 is California.
The council, in place since 1993, evaluates mushroom marketing and research initiatives, according to the release.
