The Packer’s Greg Johnson, Tom Karst, Pamela Riemenschneider and Coral Beach gathered these news items from the trade show at United Fresh 2014 trade show, June 10-13, in Chicago.

MANN PACKING: Mann Packing Co. Inc., Salinas, Calif., has redesigned packaging, said to Kim St. George, director of marketing and innovation for the Salinas company. The packaging, with a graphic logo of a farm family, features a recipe QR code on the back that links to the company's website. All of the company's packaging should be using the new design by the end of July, she says. The company plans to introduce on July 1 Asian and Mediterranean Snap Pea Sensation kits, both of which can be served cold or hot. The Mediterranean includes basil, parmesan cheese and olive oil and the Asian kit has an Asian dressing. By Tom Karst
