A former 4-H’er and past vice president of one of the largest fresh fruit companies in the world who founded a marketing company is scheduled as the guest speaker for the 15th annual Reception Honoring Women in Produce at the United Fresh Produce Association show.
Dan’l Mackey Almy, president and founder of DMA Solutions Inc., Irving, Texas, said in a news release that she is honored to speak at the event, because it gives her an opportunity to thank the industry that captured her heart decades ago.
United Fresh members nominated women to be the featured speaker, and a committee that included honorees from the past selected Mackey Almy.
United Fresh president Tom Stenzel said in the news release that her passionate promotion of fresh produce benefits the entire industry, whether she is working to raise money for salad bars in schools or discussing the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables with celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres.
The Women in Produce reception is set for May 2 at the Dallas Convention Center during the United Fresh 2012 tradeshow and conference. Registration is required.
