Val Verde Vegetable Co., McAllen, Texas, has appointed Clyde Watson Jr., as the new greens harvest supervisor.

Val Verde Vegetable gains greens harvest supervisorWatson joined Val Verde during the summer and succeeds Tony Guzman, who retired, according to a news release.

Watson has more than 20 years of experience in the greens business managing farming operations for major Texas greens shippers.

He will oversee production including planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest control and harvest, according to the release.

He will also manage harvest crews and food safety compliance.

“I have known Clyde for years and have absolute respect for his wealth of knowledge in the area of farming and harvesting.” Frank Schuster, president of Val Verde said in the release, “Clyde is a welcome addition to our staff and will be instrumental in our plans to grow our production and continue to add new items.”
