Looking forward to its 25th anniversary in 2014, Village Farms had a celebrity chef create new recipes with the company’s vegetables, some of which will be available for sampling at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Oct. 18-20.
The Delta, British Columbia-headquartered greenhouse company plans to use the tagline “25 Years — Setting the standard in flavor, quality and sustainability” through 2014, according to a news release.
Chef Darren Brown from the Fairmont Pacific Rim restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia, worked with Village Farms to create recipes to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
The recipes will be featured on select packages of tomatoes from Village Farms. The packaging will be on display at Fresh Summit’s New Product Showcase.
A quick -response code on the packaging will link consumers to a micro site that has the recipes.
Brown said in the news release that the main focus of the recipes is simple, fresh, healthful ingredients. He shares insights about Village Farms tomatoes in a video.
