Vision Produce Co. has promoted Nancy Betancourt to vice president and Donald Souther to vice president of marketing and sales development.

Dan Lawton, vice president of sales, will oversee inside sales management for the Los Angeles-based company. Souther will supervise all marketing and customer development for Vision Produce Co. and Vision Import Group.

The moves expand the senior management at the company, Bill Vogel, president of Vision Produce, said in a news release.

Product categories are managed by Dan Lawton, Nancy Betancourt and Robert Stauffer in Los Angeles; and by John Caldwell in Phoenix.

Vision Produce expands management groupSouther joined the company last August as senior director of sales and marketing. He was previously vice president of sales at Plant Source Inc. Betancourt was previously national sales manager at Vision.

Allan Acosta, hired in April as vice president of operations in Phoenix, partners with Caldwell in management of both produce and trucking operations.

Acosta’s procurement experience is expected to help Vision Produce and New Jersey-based Vision Import Group access more grower programs in Mexico. That includes the La Vision Honey Dew program out of Caborca, which starts its second season around May 20.

Bart Sgambati, chief financial officer, oversees administration, operational aspects and banking.

“We have a management team in place now that will propel an already successful enterprise to greater heights,” Vogel said in the release.
