Volumes could be light at beginning of Chilean grape deal

If fewer of those grapes go to Europe and Asia because of quality concerns, they could wind up in the U.S. instead.

“The green supply could be down 20%, but it’s hard to say if there will be a shortage,” she said. “We may not see any difference at all.”

Castle Rock will ship autumn kings, Castle Rock Reds and autumn royals in November and December, he said. The company also expects continued strong demand for globes from its Asian customers.

Shear reported good quality through early November. Large grapes should be plentiful for the remainder of the California deal, he said.
