The California Walnut Board is seeking nominations for members and alternates for two-year board terms.
Petition forms, mailed to walnut growers in February, must be returned to the board no later than April 1, according to a news release from the Sacramento-based board. Ballots will be mailed to growers in April.
The terms begin Sept. 1 and end Aug. 31, 2015.
Ten or more growers who marketed a total of 500 tons or more of walnuts in the 2011-12 season must petition for a grower’s name to be placed on the nomination ballot.
Growers will nominate two members and alternates to represent their district and one member and alternate for a statewide position.
