Walsh, president of the American Action Network, will speak at an Oct. 2 luncheon, according to a news release from United Fresh.
Walsh plans address the role of social media in political campaigns, and provide insight on the competing influence of Super PACs and political parties during the campaign season, according to the release.
Walsh is president of the Washington, D.C.-based American Action Network, which promotes center-right policies based on the principles of freedom and limited government, according to its website.
Prior to joining the American Action Network, Walsh was political director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, where he played a key role in Republican efforts to win the majority in the House of Representatives in the 2010 election, according to the release.
“Brian Walsh has been a leading political strategist for congressional candidates across the country,” Robert Guenther, United Fresh’s senior vice president of public policy, said in the release.
“He has experienced the inner workings of campaigns, and is now an influential ally to many politicians seeking office,” Guenther said. “Given the Citizens United case in the Supreme Court and the rise of Super PACs, his political insights will enlighten conference attendees about the complexity of this year’s elections.”
