More than 200 scholarships, worth an estimated $650,000, will be awarded next year by the Washington Apple Education Foundation.
The foundation gives scholarship opportunities to college students who were raised in tree fruit districts of Washington. These scholarships are funded by tree fruit companies, families and donations made in memory of past industry leaders.
Eligible students seeking scholarships for the 2014-15 school year can find information on the foundation’s website, www.waef.org/scholarships, and a link to apply for scholarship awards through theWashBoard.org.
The latter website is a resource created by Washington State and scholarship providers, where multiple scholarship applications are available. The Washington Apple Education Foundation chose theWashBoard.org as the host site for its application to encourage students to search for other scholarship opportunities in addition to its own.
The deadline to submit completed applications to the foundation is March 1.
