Pinterest and major media companies have introduced a new online effort to make nutritious recipes promoting the MyPlate message more accessible.
Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, Meredith, Food Network and Time Inc. will join with the Partnership for a Healthier America Let’s Move initiative and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s MyPlate program to promote thousands of recipes on popular cooking websites.
More than 3,000 recipes have been identified across 18 websites, according to a USDA news release, and about 1,000 of them are on a new Pinterest page.
“As a mom, I know how challenging it can be to think of new meal ideas that your kids will like and that will be good for them,” first lady Michelle Obama said in the release. “This partnership takes the guess work out of finding healthier recipes and gives parents the information and the tools they need to make healthy choices for their families every day.”
