Well-Pict to start promotion with ‘Chuggington’

Well-Pict Berries Inc., Watsonville, Calif., will be starting a rebate and promotion with Anchor Bay Entertainment, Beverly Hills, Calif., in August.

If shoppers buy a one-pound strawberry clamshell from Well-Pict and a DVD of Anchor Bay’s children’s character, Chuggington, they can receive a $3 rebate check in the mail, according to a news release.

Well-Pict plans to put “It’s Training Time!” — the name of one of the “Chuggington” DVDs — on packaging and marketing and advertising materials, including 12 million strawberry packages.

Anchor Bay will include an insert with the “It’s Training Time!” movie, featuring an exclusive berry recipe designed for preschoolers and parents to prepare together.

“Chuggington,” airs daily on the Disney Channel, during a programming block designed for children aged 2-7 called Disney Junior. It encourages early social readiness skills, the release said.
