Irvine, Calif.-based Western Growers is offering a Web seminar on Oct. 15 that will feature Food and Drug Administration officials talking about newly released revisions of the agency’s produce safety rule and the preventive controls rule. The revised rules were published in the Federal Register Sept. 29 and comments on the proposals are due Dec. 15, according to the FDA.
The event is from 1 to 2 p.m. Pacific time Oct. 15 and is free, according to a news release from Western Growers. Registration for the event is available at the association’s website .
The speakers at the Web seminar include:
- Scarlett Salem, produce safety staff at the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition; and
- Jenny Scott, senior advisor to the director of the Office of Food Safety at the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
