Rexburg, Idaho-based Wilcox Fresh donated $500 to the PMA Foundation from their booth fundraiser featured at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in Atlanta Oct. 14-17.
Attendees of the convention sampled chef Dave Sherman’s “Almost Famous” Idaho Potato Bruschetta at the Wilcox Fresh booth. In order to sample the dish, attendees were encouraged to donate $2 per plate to give back to the PMA Foundation.
Last week, Wilcox Fresh made the official donation of $500 from the sampling event to Margi Prueitt and Michele Hoffman of the PMA Foundation, according to a news release.
“On behalf of Wilcox Fresh, we wanted to thank everyone who made donations to this special event in support of future industry leaders,” Jim Richter, executive vice president of Wilcox Fresh and PMA Foundation Board member, said in a news release. “The PMA Foundation is committed to growing and supporting a vibrant produce industry through its most valuable resource: people.”
