Windset FarmsCourtesy Windset FarmsWindset Farms and its customers, suppliers and supporters have raised $65,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The contribution included a $25,000 sponsorship by Delta, B.C.-based Windset Farms combined with donations for the CIBC Run for the Cure by supporters the company dubs Friends in Freshness.

Those donations were fully matched by Windset. Ten percent of October net proceeds from its 8-ounce and 1.5-pound Concerto grape tomato sales were set aside for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Friends in Freshness consist of community organizations, chefs, nutritionists, horticulturalists and others.

“We are extremely grateful for all those who made generous donations and offered support,” John Newell, chief operating officer of Windset Farms, said in a news release. “With their assistance, we were able to continue our efforts in supporting a cause that we believe in.”

The CIBC Run for the Cure, held Oct. 6, raised $27 million overall.
