Windset Farms recently received A&W Food Service’s Vendor Excellence Award for performance after being evaluated by A&W for service, responsiveness, innovation and market competitiveness.

Windset is the fast food restaurant chain’s only tomato supplier in western Canada. A&W was the first quick-serve restaurants to choose greenhouse-grown tomatoes over field tomatoes, according to a news release.

“The greenhouse grown tomato program at A&W has been a huge success and it is an honor to be recognized by one of the leading foodservice restaurants in Canada who value sustainability as much as we do,” John Newell, owner of Windset Farms, said in the release.

“We really appreciate the support and dedication the entire Windset team invests in the A&W produce program,” Lisa Hughes, purchasing manager of food and food science at A&W, said in the release.
