A Wisconsin potato company has apparently gone out of business, with at least $123,000 owed to one seller.
Spud City Sales LLC, Stevens Point, Wis., is named along with owner and president Tom Lundgren in a case in federal court in Wisconsin filed by owners of Michael Farms Inc., Urbana, Ohio.
The lawsuit alleges that the Urbana company is owed more than $123,000 under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act for potatoes provided to Spud City from Jan. 4 through Oct. 8.
Multiple calls to the Spud City offices were not answered.
Lundgren did not respond to messages left on his cell phone.
Lundgren founded Spud City Sales in 2004 and shipped potatoes under Dole and other labels.
Before November this year, Red Book did not have record of any PACA complaints against Spud City Sales.
