Wish Farms is asking consumers to add strawberries on their cereal with a cross-merchandising promotion with General Mills.
During the in-store campaign, which runs through early March, the Plant City, Fla.-based Wish Farms is affixing labels on its 1-pound clamshells that tell shoppers about the benefits of eating breakfast at home.
The labels offer $1 off any General Mills Big G cereal, according to a news release.
The promotion was initially organized by the Dover-based Florida Strawberry Growers Association.
Tying into the promotion, Wish Farms sponsored its Pinterest.com Pin It to Win It contest which encourages “Berries for Breakfast.”
In the contest, entrants were required to pin Wish Farms and Wish Farms-inspired images to their entry boards with the hash-tag –#berriesforbreakfast.
Consumers were entered to win a Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker plus a basket of goodies from Wish Farms.
On Feb. 28, Wish Farms plans to launch a second grocery money sweepstakes via Facebook, with prizes totaling more than $500.
