Xata Corporation, Minneapolis, released its RouteTracker2 electronic onboard recorder for Xata Turnpike.
The RouteTracker2 fits into a driver’s palm, according to a news release, and is fully compliant with 395.15 regulations. It can be updated over the air, so it can remain compliant at all times.
Colin Warkentin, Xata’s vice president of development, said in the release that the device tracks hours of service, speed, idle time, hard braking, routes, arrival and departure times, engine fault-codes, and even state mileage documentation.
The RouteTracker2 includes an upgraded Bluetooth stack, enabling connection to most cell phones, smartphones and tablet computers. It also has a USB 2.0 port, allowing data to be downloaded to a computer.
Xata’s release said that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration highlighted the Xata Turnpike service as the most cost-effective, Department of Transportation-compliant electronic driver log.
