Redwood City, Calif.-based traceability specialist YottaMark plans to highlight high-tech services at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in New Orleans.

YottaMark’s HarvestMark Insights group and ShopWell Solutions will be at the forefront of the company’s PMA presentation, according to a YottaMark news release.

One tool on display will be ShopWell Insights, a service that rapidly captures the opinions of targeted segments of shoppers who use their mobile phones to help them grocery shop.

Also on tap are HarvestMark’s paperless quality inspection process and HarvestMark Connect, which provides quick-response code technology that engages consumers.

HarvestMark labels feature a 16-digit code that allows customers to go to the HarvestMark website to get information about when produce was picked, packed and shipped. HarvestMark is compliant with GS1 standards and the Produce Traceability Initiative and can track to the item and case level, according to the release.

YottaMark bought Shopwell Solutions Inc. earlier this year. ShopWell’s free mobile application has more than a million downloads and helps shoppers make decisions about the food they eat. The mobile app allows consumers to scan barcodes to see if specific food items are a good match for their dietary needs.
