Adam Putnam is sworn in as Florida's agriculture commissioner.
In his Jan. 4 swearing in ceremony, Putnam began his tenure by promoting a new Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services website.
âOne of the Departmentâs goals to is to promote and market fresh Florida products,â Putnam said. âUsing âFresh From Floridaâ not only helps us accomplish this mission but will also help the average Web surfer with name recognition and navigability.â
The event at Floridaâs Old Capitol in Tallahassee included the swearing in of the stateâs newly elected governor, Rick Scott, and other cabinet members.
Putnam, a four-term Republican congressman from Bartow, Fla., becomes the stateâs 11th commissioner of agriculture.
